Invite: Georgia Muslims Plan To Host “Visit a Mosque Day 2017” on Saturday, March 11th

visit mosque day 2(ATLANTA, GA – 2/26/17) Over twenty Georgia mosques and Islamic organizations have united to host the second annual Visit a Mosque Day on Saturday, March 11th, 2017 between 3 and 6 pm

During Visit a Mosque Day in 2016, thousands of Georgians visited mosques in various cities, as close as Atlanta and as far away as Athens.

This year, participating mosques across Georgia plan to once again hold interfaith open houses for any interested members of the public, including a tour of the mosque, a presentation about American Muslim beliefs and practices, and a Q&A session.

“Although most mosques are always open to the public, Visit a Mosque Day offers all Georgians a chance to meet and greet their Muslims neighbors in a casual setting,” said Rosemin Omar, one of the event organizers. “Given the surge in hate speech and hate crimes across our nation, Visit a Mosque Day is all the more important. We hope that events like this will help foster a sense of brotherhood and sisterhood across our communities.”
