Communications and Outreach Director
Azka Mahmood is an advocate for human and civil rights. She has a background in research, policy analysis, and social inequalities. Azka Mahmood is committed to American Muslims’ full and meaningful participation in society and their engagement in the political spheres. At CAIR-Georgia, Azka manages internal and external communications, public and media relations, social media, and community outreach.
Previously, Azka served as the Community Outreach and Events Coordinator at the CAIR-Florida Northwest office and supported fundraising efforts, developed programming to promote American Muslim students’ rights, and organized interfaith events to promote CAIR’s vision and mission. She has also worked as an ISPU researhcer and educator to support activities that create awareness about the American Muslim community and created resources to combat Islamophobia.
Azka enjoys reading, hiking, and traveling with her husband and children in her free time. Her favorite cities to visit are Islamabad, Istanbul, and El Chalten.
