Sold-Out Crowd Raises Nearly $300,000 at CAIR Georgia's First Major Banquet

WABE, Atlanta’s NPR radio station, interviewed attorney and new CAIR Georgia Executive Director Edward Ahmed Mitchell on Tuesday, March 7th. Hosts Rose Scott and Jim Buress discussed a variety of topics with Mitchell, including anti-Muslim discrimination, religious extremism, and CAIR’s goal of establishing a full-time office in Atlanta dedicated to protecting, serving, and advocating for Georgia’s Muslim community.
The Georgia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations has hired Atlanta attorney Edward Ahmed Mitchell to serve as its new Executive Director. This marks the first step in CAIR-Georgia's goal of establishing an office dedicated to serving the state full-time.
"I am excited and grateful to God for the opportunity to lead this accomplished civil rights organization as it defends Georgia Muslims and other minorities from the rising threat of discrimination," said Mitchell, who has served as a criminal prosecutor over the past three years.

“Whoever kills a person [unjustly]…it is as though he has killed all mankind. And whoever saves a life, it is as though he had saved all mankind.” (Qur’an, 5:32)
