CAIR-GA Welcomes Boy Scouts to ICCA for Presentation

Boy ScoutsCAIR-GA Executive Director Edward Ahmed Mitchell delivered a CAIR presentation about Islam to members of a Boy Scouts group on behalf of Fayetteville's Islamic Community Center on May 13th. The Fayette County students have been visiting various religious institutions, from a Hindu temple to a synagogue, as part of their Boy Scout outreach activities. CAIR-GA delivered an informational presentation about Muslims here and abroad, as well as their beliefs and practices.

CAIR-GA Meets with Leadership of Masjid Al-Mu'minun

543790 10150689450281866 1872547432 nCAIR-GA Executive Director Edward Ahmed Mitchell met with the board of Masjid Al-Mu'minun in Atlanta Wednesday evening to offer CAIR's free services, including a Last Will & Testament Seminar, Mosque Security Training, and a Know Your Legal Rights & Responsibilities Seminar. The masjid and CAIR-GA agreed to hold a presentation at the mosque, which is located on Hank Aaron Drive near Turner Field, after the month of Ramadan, insha Allah.

CAIR-GA Joins Training for Social Justice Groups at Synagogue

MPOLISCAIR Georgia joined a May 10th training session for social justice groups led by Rev. Dr. William Barber at The Temple, Atlanta's most prominent synagogue.

The Moral Political Organizing Leadership Institute (MPOLIS) hosted the event, which brought together leaders from various Georgia communities, including advocates of immigration reform, a higher minimum wage, expanded government healthcare and tolerance for minority communities.

The day-long training ended with a Muslim woman reciting Surah Al-Fatiha, the first chapter of the Quran, at the request of Dr. Barber.

From Atlanta To Aleppo: CAIR-GA Joins March For Syria

(5/7/2016 - ATLANTA, GA) UPDATE: CAIR Georgia joined an Atlanta demonstration for the people of Syria on Friday, marching from the National Center for Civil and Human Rights to the CNN Center while demanding an end to Russian and Syrian airstrikes on civilians in Aleppo.

“Enough is enough,” said CAIR Georgia Executive Director Edward Ahmed Mitchell, “The Syrian regime is slaughtering innocent men, women and chidren before our very eyes. We must oppose this massacre with our resources and our words before Syria becomes the Rwanda of our generation.”

CAIR GA Delivers Islamic Will Seminar at Al-Farooq Masjid

(5/1/2016 - ATLANTA, GA) CAIR Georgia delivered its Islamic Last Will & Testament Workshop at Al-Farooq Masjid on Sunday. Attorney and Executive Director Edward Ahmed Mitchell and other speakers discussed the importance of fulfilling the Islamic obligation to write and maintain a will, especially as Georgia residents. Mitchell also walked participants through the process of completing a Georgia will that addresses everything from inheritance to burial to payment of debts to child custody to healthcare decisions.
